Why it matters here

A coast built on canals

West Pasco and coastal Hernando were dug into canal communities in the 1950s and 1960s. Those walls are aging, and Helene tested every one of them.

Permits

Four offices, one coast

Who permits your wall depends on the parcel, not the mailing address. Unincorporated Pasco goes through the county, New Port Richey and Port Richey each have their own building office, and Hernando County parcels go to the county Building Division in Brooksville. Mailing addresses in New Port Richey and Port Richey cover far more ground than the cities do.

Your contractor should confirm in writing which approvals your address needs and who files them.

Costs

What seawall work costs

Repairs and replacements are priced very differently. Published 2026 figures put general repair at about $100 to $250 per linear foot, while Florida replacement estimates run about $500 to $1,200 per foot. That gap is the best argument for fixing a leaking joint or a tired anchor early.

Reference figures, not quotes. Angi, seawall repair cost (2026 data): about $100–$250 per linear foot for repairs. LatestCost, Florida seawall replacement (2026): about $500–$1,200 per linear foot. HomeAdvisor, sea wall cost: average $25,000, typical $15,000–$60,000. Checked October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a seawall contractor?

No. Seawall Repair Pasco is a referral service. We connect you with an independent, licensed local contractor, who gives their own estimate, pulls permits and does the work.

Who issues seawall permits in Pasco and Hernando?

It depends on where the parcel is. Unincorporated Pasco goes through Pasco County Building Construction Services, New Port Richey and Port Richey have their own building offices, and Hernando County parcels go through the Hernando County Building Division. State and federal reviews can apply on top of that.

How do I know if my seawall needs repair?

Watch for holes or soft ground in the yard near the wall, sand or shell piling up at the base at low tide, cracked or spalling concrete on the cap, and a wall that has started to tip toward the water.

What does seawall repair cost?

Published 2026 figures put repairs around $100 to $250 per linear foot and Florida replacements around $500 to $1,200 per foot. The contractor's written estimate for your wall is what counts.

Is the estimate free?
